Prince Philip today celebrates his 98th birthday, and we wish him a happy birthday!

The Duke of Edinburgh, long-time patron of the British Driving Society (amongst others), still finds time for his favourite hobby, having retired from public life in 2017. Even earlier this year he has been seen out driving around the grounds at Sandringham’s Wood Farm, where he now spends much of his time.

Remarkably, the Royal Consort only gave up competing internationally at age 85– so perhaps it is no surprise he still manages to drive, despite his advanced years. He was seen in May enjoying the Royal Windsor Horse Show alongside HM the Queen and other members of the royal family, where they enjoyed watching all of the different carriage driving disciplines, including their grand-daughter Lady Louise Windsor competing in the Private Driving classes.
