EQUITANA, the World Equestrian Show, scheduled for March 13-21, 2021 in Essen, Germany, cannot take place due to the ongoing Covid 19 pandemic. "This decision was not easy for us, but we made it in consultation with our exhibitors and partners," said Benedikt Binder-Krieglstein, CEO of organizer Reed Exhibitions Deutschland GmbH. "Looking at the evolution of the ongoing pandemic it is unclear when events will be able to reopen safely in the coming months. We are currently feeling the uncertainty among our exhibitors as well. Our decision has now provided planning certainty for all participants.”

"We know how much the entire equestrian industry has been looking forward to the upcoming EQUITANA. We also know how important the World Equestrian Show is as a marketplace and meeting place for the industry and what high expectations are associated with it," said EQUITANA Event Director Christina Uetz. A slimmed-down edition of the fair was therefore unthinkable, she says. "We are already in intensive exchange with our partners and are doing everything we can to offer a good alternative in a timely manner," Uetz continues. EQUITANA will update the community on plans for 2021 as soon as possible.
