RDA launches 'Tea with a Pony' for people living with Dementia

Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) is launching Tea With a Pony, a new meaningful activity to help those living with dementia and other long term conditions. The new initiative launches on 17 May, to coincide with Alzheimer’s Society Dementia Action Week.

A seismic day for animal welfare: World Horse Welfare warmly welcomes stiffer punishments for animal cruelty

Yesterday the Animal Welfare (Sentencing) Act completed its final reading in the House of Lords and today it received Royal Assent, meaning the law will change and sentences for animal cruelty will increase from a maximum of 6-months to 5-years.

Wellingborough ponies after a year...

Just over a year after a group of emaciated, sick and nervous ponies were rescued from flooded land in Wellingborough, North Northamptonshire, Blue Cross is delighted to report that they are now healthy and almost all are now in happy, caring homes. A total of 11 ponies were admitted to the charity’s animal rehoming centre in Rolleston following the rescue, where several horses were sadly found to have died.
