The Queen is on winning form at virtual Royal Windsor

After the cancellation of Royal Windsor Horse Show, organisers moved the Show online to create Virtual Windsor 2020. More than 4,200 entries were received for the online Showing competitions, including several from HM The Queen.

Reading Sales update for remainder of 2020

After an exceptionally busy sale at Reading on the 4th March, and the successful introduction of online bidding in most sections, the world has changed completely. Chris Boreham explains that for the foreseeable future it will not be possible to hold “live” auction sales due to the Covid-19 restrictions, so all our auctions will be now ONLINE ONLY.

RDA Emergency Appeal Fund

Covid-19 Equine Rescues Emergency Fund

The Petplan Charitable Trust (PPCT) has joined together with World Horse Welfare and the National Equine Welfare Council (NEWC) to create a Covid-19 Equine Rescues Emergency Fund. The purpose of the fund is to help smaller equine welfare organisations across the UK who are being significantly impacted by the current crisis.

Like humans, horses age at different rates and many factors influence the longevity of a horse’s life, including its breeding, the stresses and strains placed on it in earlier years and the standard of care. We always advocate treating every horse as an individual, regardless of their age but, as nutrition influences the health and welfare of all horses and ponies, it’s helpful to be aware of some of the effects of old age in order to establish which feed will meet a particular individual’s requirements.
