Those who know Ben Turner, may not be surprised by his latest project. He is one of life’s enthusiasts and his gusto and disregard for convention typifies much of what he does, including this latest scheme to build a series of Mad Max style carriages which were due to be unveiled at the London Harness Parade in April this year.

Arenas and indoor schools set to re-open

​As a result of the British Horse Society lobbying the Department for Digital, Culture, Media & Sport (DCMS) and sharing the Covered Arena Best Practice guide, it has been agreed by DCMS that covered arenas and indoor schools can be used in England from 4th July. This is great news for all centres who will now be able to fully utilise their arenas

The RSPCA is warning that a financial recession could plunge the country into a second wave of the equine crisis which has already led to thousands of dumped and dying horses and crippled welfare charities​. The charity has been called about more than 2,000 equine incidents during lockdown, sparking fears that more sick horses will be dumped across England & Wales

One-eyed Blue Cross pony Basil back home after being found tied to tree in graveyard

A one-eyed Shetland pony belonging to the Blue Cross who was stolen from his field in Gloucestershire has been found tied up in a graveyard near Bristol. Basil was on loan from the national charity’s rehoming centre in Burford, Oxfordshire, to Ali Bluck when he was stolen from her home in Gloucestershire on the evening of 21st May.
