Park Lane Stables were the winners of the Driving for the Disabled Group of the Year in the Carriage Driving Awards 2021. There are around 350 disabled people and nearly 200 volunteers who are part of the Park Lane Stables family.

Throughout a difficult year when faced with losing their home, thanks to Natalie O’Rourke, the driving force behind this group, they managed to attract the attention and support of the national media and celebrities - as a result they raised more than £1m to secure their future, allowing them to purchase the stables and continue to bring happiness and wellbeing to their local community.

She has released a book Only Heroes and Horses to tell her story.

Find out how Natalie ended up running one of London’s few urban stables, about her tenacity in ensuring its survival, and about the biggest challenge of all in 2021 – raise £1million or face eviction. And read the inside story of that campaign as it unfolded and meet some of the many, many heroes who helped make it happen.

Available in hardback, ebook and audiobook from your favourite bookstore or online retailer. Sales include a contribution to Park Lane Stables which helps support their work.
