The annual August Bank Holiday Edenbridge and Oxted Agricultural Show, is one of the most important community events for horse lovers in the area.

A highlight is the spectacle of the three and four in hand carriages as they parade in the main ring on Bank Holiday Monday after a five mile road drive. This year they will be judged by Mr SJ Peacock of Essex and will arrive into the Fairfax Properties main arena at 12.40pm. Another treat for carriage driving enthusiasts is the Osborne Refrigerators Double Harness Scurry Championships in the Fairfax arena on Sunday 25that 2.30pm, preceded by HOYS qualifiers in Ring Five at 11am. Other HOYS qualifiers include Harness – non-Hackney and hackney clases from 1.55pm in Ring five leading up to the Harness Championship and ending the day in great style with the Private Driving Concours D’Elegance. There are a huge number of equine classes for all abilities in six competitive rings together with specialist equestrian stands.

Catch the breathtaking Atkinson Action Horses bareback riding stunt show in the main arena twice daily. New this year will be demonstrations by the Side Saddle Association and also a side saddler talking about the history and current techniques of making specialist saddles. Other equestrian events include the charming Concours d’Elegance and Mounted Fancy Dress classes on Sunday morning and showjumping in the afternoon. On the second day is the Heavy Horse Parade at lunchtime with the Supreme Ridden Horse Championship and showjumping to conclude the two action-packed days. Around the showground see new attractions including Water Buffalo, Henfold Birds of Prey demonstrations and the Team MAD BMX & Trail Bike stunt shows.

Advance ticket holders, including earlybird saver ticket holders, will be fast-tracked through the ticket queues this year for the first time.
